Live Music Australia Round 2 – an Australian Government initiative – supported our Live At the Twyford program from 2022 – 2023. The program consisted of 18 performances of live, original Australian music, employed 64 individual artists in 26 bands/solo acts and 3 arts workers and attracted over 1460 audience members. The performances were held in our heritage-listed 170 seat Hall and represented a steady return of audiences post COVID to our venue. A list of the performances appears below.
The Twyford has now been successful in Round 8 of Live Music Australia, receiving further funding to pay artists to present performances of live, original Australian music in our new $9.4 million 199 tiered-seat Theatre venue in 2024-25. The new venue will allow us to develop our capacity to present top-quality original music with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and to record/stream selected performances to enhance the skills of our technical staff and enable artists to reach a wider Australian audience.
