    STALLS | FOOD | MUSIC

Presented by the Merimbula Chamber of Commerce, Twilight Markets will be held along Beach St Merimbula on Saturday 15 January 2022 from 4 – 8pm (subject to weather).

The markets will feature stalls, food and music and visitors are also encouraged to support local cafes and restaurants that will also be open that evening around Merimbula CBD.

Please note, Beach Street will be closed to traffic between Market St and Alice St from 1.30pm on market days.

The Twyford is supporting live original Australian music by local musicians at the markets thanks to Live Music Australia – an Australian government initiative.

Felicity Dowd from Bega describes herself as a ‘small town troubadour in her element’. The award-winning country, folk and blues singer-songwriter learnt the piano from age 6 and a few years later, picked up the more portable guitar and started singing two years later.

After busking around the Bega Valley and performing at festivals, she attended the Junior Academy of Country Music, in 2018. In 2020 she won the Tamworth Songwriting Association Talent Quest (Youth Category) performing Blue Skies at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and used the prize money to record the single.

Written prior to the Black Summer bushfires, Blue Skies encapsulates the impact that natural disasters have, and following the devastating fires in her former home town of Cobargo, Felicity donated the first year of sales of the debut single to the Cobargo Community Bushfire Recovery Fund.

After the single was released on 8 March 2021, it rose to number one on the iTunes Country Songs Chart overnight.

Felicity has also been part of the Talent Development Project, an initiative between the NSW Department of Education and the entertainment industry, which prepares students for careers in the entertainment and music industries.

In 2021 she won the John P Toomey Commemorative Award for Youth Songwriting at the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards, for her song When the Party is Over.
