A sparkling live matinee program of music from the golden age of radio, featuring the Sapphire Coast Concert Band, Spirit Allegro choir plus special guest Jamie Forbes.
Enjoy an afternoon of live music, song and entertainment which brings back the golden age of radio and includes music by artists like the Beatles and Isaac Hayes, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.
Presented by the 18 piece Sapphire Coast Concert Band, the concert also features the 40 member Spirit Allegro Choir and popular guest artist Jamie Forbes. Through a combination of formats which include full band and chamber choir recitals to ensembles, solos and mixed performances, the afternoon will take the audience on a nostalgic trip down memory lane and feature some of the best music of then…..and which is still popular today!

ABOUT
The Sapphire Coast Concert Band (SCCB) is a not for profit community band serving the Bega Valley Shire that has been playing since 2002.
Its purpose is to foster musical talent for all ages and develop skills through weekly rehearsals, performances and mentoring. Current members are from Quaama, Bega, Tura Beach, Pambula and Merimbula and range in age from 9 to 80 plus.
The band is conducted by Steve Fitzgerald, a multi-talented musician who heads up the music department at the Sapphire Coast Anglican College.
Spirit Allegro Chamber Choir is a vibrant local ensemble dedicated to sharing the joy and beauty of choral music with the community. Founded in 2015 by Dr ‘Sandy’ Glass, the choir is today led by Musical Director Clare Fitzgerald.
Clare is an accomplished pianist and musician who brings fresh energy, warmth, and enthusiasm to this ensemble of nearly 40 singers.. Her positive leadership and strong connections within the musical community continue to enrich the choir’s performances.
Spirit Allegro presents two major concerts each year and regularly participates in much-loved community events including Bach Day in March and Spring Sing in September.
Jamie Forbes is a popular local musician and actor. He plays guitar and sings with The Sugarants and The Hoops and was part of the recent Talking Heads tribute band with the Figmentz.
Jamie is also an award-winning writer for television, stage, radio, books and magazines. As an actor he has appeared on television, in film and on stage in numerous productions including Oliver in 2025 and is one of the leads in the upcoming production of The Odd Couple in May 2026.
