The Twyford is committed to providing a great experience for our audiences, visiting artists and crews and is working on improving accessibility for all. Our new theatre will expand this experience in 2024.
Current Accessibility Features
- Nearest accessible parking in Beach Street carpark, additional accessible parking eastern end of Beach St and in Alice St carpark
- Bus stop on Market Street outside Main Entrance
- Accessible double doorway at Beach St entrance of Hall, inner door into Hall, inner door to toilets on ground floor – minimum 1.35m wide
- Hall has flexible seating on a flat floor that easily accommodates wheelchair spaces
- Level wide doorway into Supper room with flexible seating on ground floor
- Unisex accessible toilet with baby change table located on ground floor, accessible from Hall
- Note: Hall stage is raised and reached via 3 steps with a railing on one side. Hall stage is NOT currently accessible to wheelchairs users – see Future Accessibility features below

- Step lighting and handrails in Theatre auditorium
- Row J of Theatre wheelchair-accessible with up to 4 designated wheelchair spaces, 2 of these with adjacent carer seats
- Hearing loop in Theatre auditorium
- Accessible Stage Door on Market St for artists/speakers
- Accessible Lower Dressing Room and Bathroom for artists/speakers on ground level via ramp from Stage Door entrance
- Theatre Stage accessible via Stage Door and Stage entrance corridor
- Hall Stage accessible via Theatre Stage, with possible stage manager assistance at door onto stage
